Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our successful, SOUND division sales team.  The role is essential to our growth strategy in 2025, with plans to expand our market presence in select national and international locations.  This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to make a significant impact in a rapidly evolving industry.

*This role will ideally be based in out of our Singleton Head Office but open to considering Sydney based applicants also.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities to achieve sales targets and revenue growth
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions
  • Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and potential areas for growth
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, engineering, and operations, to ensure a seamless delivery of solutions to clients
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and contracts to secure new business
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and promote Minetek's products and services
  • Monitor and report on sales performance, providing regular updates to senior management and divisional leaders

Desired Skills and Experience

About you (essential):

  • A proven work history and glowing track record of successful business development and sales, ideally in a heavy industrial sector
  • An excellent communicator, adept at engaging on a highly professional level and captivating an audience
  • Transparent and honest in your business dealings, providing real-world context to all sales activities
  • A skilled negotiator, who will remain calm and deliberate, especially when faced with high stakes sales opportunities
  • Can adapt communication and working style in support of building and maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Highly self-motivated, goal-oriented, and resilient, particularly when tackling complex work challenges
  • Willingness to travel as per the business and customer needs

Desirables (not essential):

  • A knowledge of Australian mining operations, their geography and associated industry challenges
  • Advanced sales training and certification, with a knowledge of sales ‘best-practice’
  • Has had input into developing high-level sales strategies and understands how they might impact short-term goals
